Drug Education Support Project Print

The Drug Education Support Project is a partnership between South West Mayo Development Company and the Western Region Drugs Task Force.

The project aims to promote the health and well-being of young people, parents and communities in Mayo and Roscommon by providing drug and alcohol education services to empower participants with knowledge and skills to make informed decisions and healthy lifestyle choices.

The following services can be provided to you and your organisation:

  • Drug education training for staff and volunteers
  • Assistance in the development and delivery of a drug awareness programme for young people
  • Provision of drug awareness groups/programmes for parents/members of the community
  • Assistance in the creation of substance misuse policy
  • Provision of group training for staff on applying policy to your work
  • Provision of specific two-day drug and alcohol training on the resource 'Putting the Pieces Together'
  • Provision on one-day DEWF (Drug Education Workers Forum - Quality Standards in Substance Use Education) training
  • Provision of information on community links and drug related services in your area
  • Link organisations in with WRDTF community staff, programmes and initiatives
  • Designing drug education sessions specific to needs
