|Claremorris Local Training Initiative|
The Local Training Initiative programme is a project-based training and work experience programme carried out in the local community run by local community groups. The programme allows local communities to carry out valuable and necessary projects of benefit to their communities, while at the same time training participants in areas related to the project work so that they can go on to gain employment or progress to further training. Anyone who is unemployed and over the age of 16, at any level of literacy, is eligible to participate. Each person attending does so for 45 weeks.The Mayo Sligo Leitrim Educational Training Board (MSLETB) provides support in the form of allowances and funding with the Local Training Initiative, including allowances for participants and grants for supervisors, materials and administration. Participants learn in an informal, relaxed environment where they are encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning.
Claremorris LTI is based in The Communal Building in the Mayfield Lake Development on the Ballinrobe Rd in Claremorris. Claremorris LTI will be offerring a QQI Level 5 major Award in Business administration. The programme consists of the following modules:
The programme runs for 45 weeks and upon successful completion of all modules participants will be awarded a QQI Level 5 Major award in Business Administration. Claremorris LTI provides access to those in in Claremorris and it's hinterlands that may not otherwise be available to them.
